In 2023, 100 years after the birth of Maria Callas, The Merchant of Venice signs a licensing agreement with the Maria Callas Estate to produce and distribute the first perfume in history that will bear the name and be dedicated to La Divina.

Legitimately managed by members of Maria Callas’ family, the Estate has the objective and ambition to preserve and disseminate to current and new generations the Divina’s artistic and personal legacy, encouraging activities to promote her singular art and personality and planning initiatives to commemorate her memory.

It is a great honour, therefore, for The Merchant of Venice to have been apppointed by this foundation as one of the official partners in the program of events beginning on December 2^nd, 2023 for the celebration of this important centenary.

This collaboration will culminate in the creation of a fragrance dedicated to the great soprano, on which the creative team of The Merchant of Venice is working carefully to succeed in representing in a modern Eau de Parfum the Divina’s multifaceted and timeless personality. Even the perfume bottle will be a tribute to Maria Callas, an unmistakable icon of style and elegance, taking inspiration from her most emblematic looks and accessories.

The fragrance will be officially presented on December 5^th, 2023 in the beautiful setting of the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice. The important Venetian institution represented one of the most important and serene chapters in Maria Callas’ life and houses a permanent photo exhibition with shots of her during her years in the city.
